Laurie A. Kemp

Meet Laurie Kemp, co-founder of Momentum Title Agency and an attorney with over 25 years of experience, licensed in both Indiana and Kentucky. With a background in employment and corporate litigation, Laurie brings a wealth of legal expertise to the real estate and title industry. Since joining Momentum Title in 2017, she has seamlessly transitioned her skills to assist clients not only at the closing table but also in navigating any legal challenges before or after closing. Laurie is committed to educating agents and lenders, helping them stay ahead of industry changes and enhancing their businesses. Her dedication to providing top-tier legal services, ethical transactions, and exceptional customer care is at the heart of everything she does.

A native of Northern Kentucky, Laurie earned her Bachelor of Science degree with honors from Miami University in 1992 before moving to Louisville to attend law school. She graduated with a Juris Doctorate from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law in 1996. Though originally from out of town, Southern Indiana and Metro Louisville have become home to Laurie, and she is passionately committed to servant leadership in the community.

When she’s not working or spending time with family, you’ll find Laurie actively engaged in community service. From weekly volunteering with children at the New Albany Housing Authority Youth Enrichment Program to participating in events like Dancing with the Stars for Hosparus Health, she is constantly making a difference. Laurie also lends her time and expertise to several organizations, serving on the Board of Directors for One Southern Indiana, the Habitat for Humanity Women’s Build Committee, and the German American Southeast Region Indiana Advisory Board, among many others. Her leadership roles include past President of the Art Alliance of Southern Indiana and past Chair of The Center for Women and Families.

Laurie’s commitment to community and professional excellence is matched by her impressive academic achievements, having graduated with honors from both Miami University and the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law. She is a proud member of the Kentucky and Indiana Bar Associations, ALTA, and ILTA, continually striving to make a positive impact both in her industry and her community.

James Michael Kemp

Meet Mike Kemp, co-founder of Momentum Title Agency and a seasoned attorney licensed in both Kentucky and Indiana. With over 25 years of experience in the title industry, Mike has built a reputation for excellence and professionalism. From the start of his real estate career, he crafted a clear mission: to deliver the highest level of service to every client. Each day, Mike puts this mission into action by leading a dedicated team, implementing key operational strategies, and overseeing all aspects of the title process.

A passionate educator, Mike regularly shares his expertise through presentations, seminars, and legal updates that empower professionals in lending and real estate. As a licensed instructor for the real estate commissions of Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee, he offers a wide range of courses, including the Code of Ethics, Closing Day Success, and Fair Housing, among others.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Mike is deeply committed to giving back to his community. His love for coaching began before law school as a tennis instructor, and today, he continues to mentor young athletes by volunteering to coach his children’s middle school soccer and basketball teams. Since 2021, Mike and his wife Laurie have also supported the New Albany Housing Authority’s after-school program for children, providing both time and financial resources. In addition, the Momentum Title team directs its fundraising efforts towards fighting food insecurity by supporting causes like Blessings in a Backpack and Dare to Care.

A proud graduate of the University of Louisville, Mike earned both his Bachelor of Science and Juris Doctorate with honors while competing as a member of the NCAA Division I men’s tennis team. His commitment to excellence, service, and community drives everything he does.
